Egg & Milk: Safe Pairing

Learn how to enjoy egg and milk without the raw-egg danger, and stay for the simple trick at the end.

Raw Egg in Milk

Cracking a raw egg into cold milk leaves Salmonella alive. The bacteria can cause diarrhea, fever, and vomiting, especially in pregnant women, young kids, seniors, or anyone with a weak immune system.

A raw egg shake gives you more risk and less protein than the same egg boiled.

Cooked Egg + Milk

Once the egg is cooked, it’s ordinary food. Boiled eggs with milk, custard, French toast, or even a simple hot egg-milk drink are all safe and nutritious.

Calories per glass

A glass of cooked egg milk is about 210 to 250 calories, with roughly fourteen grams of protein.

Safe Gym Shake

Blend cold milk with a banana, and have two boiled eggs on the side. You get the same protein as a raw-egg shake, but without the Salmonella gamble.

Breakfast Plate Numbers

Two boiled eggs, a glass of whole cow milk, and a medium banana add up to about 350 to 405 calories and twenty-one grams of protein, giving you a balanced start to the day.

Weight Gain & Caution

If you’re trying to gain weight, aim for an extra three hundred to five hundred calories a day and include strength work. Skip unlabelled ‘weight-gain’ powders and watch for underlying health issues.

The one safe way

The safest trick: whisk an egg with a teaspoon of sugar, slowly temper it with hot milk, then return to the pan and stir on low until it thickens. No raw egg, no risk.
