  1. Question 1 of 10. Dabbing white toothpaste on a pimple overnight is a good way to heal it.
    Show the answer

Answer: Myth. Toothpaste can make the surface look drier by morning, but its drying agents irritate skin and can leave a red, peeling patch. A benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid spot treatment is made for skin.

  2. Question 2 of 10. Stirring honey into hot chai turns it poisonous.
    Show the answer

Answer: Myth. The warning comes from classical Ayurvedic texts. Heat changes honey's flavour and destroys some enzymes, but it does not make it toxic in normal kitchen use.

  3. Question 3 of 10. Honey is fine for a baby under one year old if it is cooked first.
    Show the answer

Answer: False. No honey in any form, raw or cooked, before the first birthday, because of the risk of infant botulism.

  4. Question 4 of 10. A glass of hot water in the morning melts body fat.
    Show the answer

Answer: Myth. Warm water can soothe a scratchy throat or help a sluggish morning bowel. It cannot burn fat, and ice water does not "freeze" your digestion either.

  5. Question 5 of 10. What can jeera, ajwain or methi water honestly do for weight loss?
    Show the answer

Answer: Replace a sugary drink with a near-zero-calorie one. No seed or spice water melts fat. The real benefit is swapping a sweet chai or cold drink for something with almost no calories.

  6. Question 6 of 10. Eating dahi at night gives you a cold and a cough.
    Show the answer

Answer: Only for some people with reflux or a sensitive throat. Nothing changes in dahi after sunset. People with reflux, post-nasal drip or a sensitive throat may notice cold or very sour dahi; most people will not.

  7. Question 7 of 10. A homemade coconut oil and zinc sunscreen can be trusted to give SPF 30.
    Show the answer

Answer: False. SPF can only be measured in a lab. Plain coconut oil gives roughly SPF 1 to 7, and nobody can know the SPF of a home zinc paste.

  8. Question 8 of 10. Nutmeg (jaiphal) is safe in any amount because it is just a kitchen spice.
    Show the answer

Answer: False. A grating is fine. Around one to two whole nutmegs, roughly 5 to 10 g ground, can make an adult seriously unwell. Keep it away from children.

  9. Question 9 of 10. Papaya leaf juice is the standard treatment to raise platelets in dengue.
    Show the answer

Answer: Myth. The evidence is limited and it is not standard medical treatment. Platelets usually recover with time. Watch the warning signs, and never give aspirin or ibuprofen in dengue.

  10. Question 10 of 10. Warm lemon and honey water on an empty stomach flushes toxins and cuts fat.
    Show the answer

Answer: Myth. It is water, a little vitamin C and a spoon of sugar, about 20 kcal per teaspoon of honey. Pleasant, but it does not burn fat or cleanse the liver.
