Weight Gain Before Wedding

In the next eight weeks you can safely add a couple of kilos for that perfect wedding fit, and stay till the end for the one habit that makes it stick.

Target weight gain

The goal is a realistic gain of two to four kilograms over eight weeks.

How fast can you gain?

Most adults can safely add a quarter to half a kilo each week. In eight weeks that totals two to four kilos, enough to change how a kurta or lehenga sits.

Add extra calories

Add about three to five hundred calories a day from real foods. A simple way is an extra snack like a banana shake or a paratha with dahi, and a spoon of ghee on your carbs.

Strength work at home

Three short sessions a week, ten to fifteen minutes each, keep muscles looking good in clothes. Try squats, wall push-ups, backpack rows and a quick stair climb. Add a rep when it feels easy.

Measure progress at week 4

Don’t rely on the scale alone. Take a tape and note waist, chest, hips and upper arm on day one and again at week four. Small changes in fit show up first.

Skip powders and pills

Quick-fix powders and injections often hide steroids or appetite stimulants, leading to water retention, mood swings and longer health risks. Only use appetite tablets if a doctor prescribes them.

Busy wedding week tips

Carry portable calories like a banana, roasted chana, dates or peanuts in your bag. Set a reminder for mid-morning and tea-time snacks. If you miss a day, simply resume at the next meal.

The one habit to keep

The most effective habit is to add one extra snack-sized portion each day and keep it consistent. Adjust portions weekly based on how your clothes fit.
