Skinny Fat Fix
You’ll learn how a few home strength moves and a modest calorie boost can turn a soft belly into a firmer you.
What skinny fat means
Two people can weigh the same, yet one has firm limbs and a flat stomach while the other has thin arms, a soft belly and low muscle. That’s skinny fat, low muscle, normal weight, but hidden fat around the middle.
Rule out medical causes
If you’re losing weight without trying, or your belly appears with thirst, frequent urination, or dark skin folds, see a doctor first. Conditions like thyroid issues, diabetes, or even anemia can mimic skinny fat.
Home strength routine
Do three 30-minute sessions a week at home: chair squats, push-ups, and bottle rows, with a rest day between. On off days, walk 20-30 minutes. No gym needed.
Protein every meal
Spread protein across meals, a palm-sized portion at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Think eggs or dahi in the morning, dal or chickpeas at midday, and chicken, fish or paneer at night. After training, a glass of milk and a banana works.
Weekly weight gain
Aim for a steady gain of about a quarter kilogram per week; that signals muscle growth without the belly expanding.
The one mistake to avoid
The biggest mistake is loading up on a thousand extra calories a day. Muscle builds slowly, so excess calories just pad the belly. Stick to a modest 200-300 kcal surplus and let strength work do the rest.
