Seed Cycling Basics
I'll show you a simple seed routine and the one key tip that matters most, so you can decide if it's worth trying and how to keep them fresh.
Two-Phase Seed Routine
Phase one, days one to fourteen, you take a tablespoon of ground flax and a tablespoon of pumpkin seed. Phase two, days fifteen to twenty-eight, swaps in a tablespoon of sesame and a tablespoon of sunflower. These seeds give you fats, fibre, magnesium and zinc.
Omega-3 from Flax
Each spoon of ground flax gives about 1.6 grams of ALA, which meets the average daily need for women and supports overall health and can help reduce inflammation.
What You Get Daily
Together the two spoons add roughly ninety to one hundred five calories, seven to nine grams of fat, about four grams of protein and two to two and a half grams of fibre each day.
Quick Take
The takeaway? Seeds are fine, but the calendar isn’t a hormone hack. Focus on the nutrients, not the timing, and you’ll likely feel better from the extra fibre and magnesium.
Limits of Seed Cycling
Seed cycling won’t fix irregular cycles caused by PCOS, thyroid issues, weight changes or stress. It also won’t reliably ease severe cramps or replace a doctor’s check-up for heavy bleeding, spotting between periods, or periods that stop for months.
Simpler Mix
If you want a simpler routine, mix equal weights of flax, pumpkin, sesame and sunflower seeds, grind the flax, and take one to two tablespoons daily. No calendar needed, just enjoy the nutrients.
Maximum Flax
You can safely increase flax to two tablespoons a day for more omega-3, but remember to drink extra water to avoid bloating and digestive discomfort.
