Dahi Honey Turmeric Mask
Discover a gentle, DIY face mask that leaves skin soft and bright.
Mask weight
The mask weighs about twenty-two grams, the perfect amount for face and neck.
What’s in the mask
One tablespoon of plain dahi, one teaspoon of honey, and a pinch of turmeric make up the mask. Dahi is roughly two-thirds, honey a third, and turmeric just a sliver, about one-to-two percent. That totals about twenty-two grams, enough for a thin, even layer that stays put.
What each part does
Yoghurt brings mild lactic acid that gently smooths dullness and adds cool moisture. Honey acts as a humectant, pulling water to the skin so it feels plump and smooth. Turmeric gives the pale cream hue and a touch of tradition, but too much turns the mask bright yellow and can stain.
Two-minute prep
First stir honey into the dahi until it spreads evenly. Then sprinkle the turmeric and whisk until the mixture turns a soft, pale cream. If it looks bright yellow, you’ve added too much turmeric.
How to use it
Apply once or twice a week, depending on skin type. Wash your face, pat dry, tie back hair, and wear an old shirt. Spread the mask over face and neck, avoiding eyes and lips, then leave for ten minutes before rinsing.
Color tip
A pale cream colour is the right amount of turmeric. Bright yellow means you’ve added too much and may cause staining.
Take care if
Patch test on inner arm for ten minutes, rinse, and watch for any reaction over 48 hours. Skip if you’re allergic to milk protein or bee products, and stop if it stings, itches, or turns red. Avoid broken skin, sunburn, or fresh threading.
Haldi amount
Only about a third of a gram of turmeric, roughly one-eighth of a teaspoon, goes into the mask.
