How to Complain About Fake Food
Stay tuned, because the best tip for winning a complaint comes at the end.
Gather Evidence
First, hold onto the receipt, keep a sealed pack if you have a second, and snap clear photos of the front, back, batch number, dates and any problem you see.
Choose the Right Authority
Next, send your complaint to the right body: provincial food authority for shops and street food, PSQCA or FSSAI for packaged items, DRAP for medicines, and a consumer court if you want a refund.
Provincial Food Authority Portal
In Punjab, Sindh, KP or Balochistan, use the provincial food authority’s portal or app to upload your evidence; they can inspect, sample, fine or even close the business.
Keep a Second Pack
If you can, buy another sealed pack from the same batch and keep it unopened, regulators trust a sealed sample far more than one from your kitchen.
Check Before You File
Spend a few minutes looking at the label and the product; home tests can mislead, so just report exactly what you observed and let the authority’s lab do the proof.
What Happens After Filing
You’ll get a reference number, may be called for details or a sample, then inspectors will visit and send samples to a lab, which can take days or weeks.
Getting a Refund
For money back, write to the seller in writing first, give them a chance to respond, then file a complaint with your provincial consumer court or commission.
The one thing to do
The single most powerful step is to keep a sealed second pack as solid evidence and submit it with your documented photos and receipt to the regulator.
