Morning Eye Crusts? Two-Minute Fix
Today you'll learn a quick daily habit that tames crusty lids, and the key tip appears at the end.
What blepharitis is
Blepharitis is an irritation along the edge of your eyelid, right where lashes grow. It shows up as flakes, crusts, and sometimes blocked oil glands. Two types exist: front-edge and back-edge.
Why it keeps coming back
The same skin tendencies that cause dandruff on your scalp often appear on lids. Rosacea can thicken the oil, and aging, long screen time, or dry air make glands sluggish. It's not about dirt, it's about skin behavior.
Daily lid hygiene routine
Spend two minutes each morning on lid hygiene. First, warm a clean cloth to about 40 °C and press it on closed eyes. Then roll a fingertip toward the lashes five times. Finally, clean with a mix of a few drops of tear-free baby shampoo in cooled boiled water, or use a ready-made lid wipe when you’re on the go.
Busy-day shortcut
If you’re short on time, let warm shower water run over your closed eyes for a minute, then swipe the lash line once with a lid wipe. Miss a day? No worries, just resume the routine tomorrow. Consistency beats perfection.
Two-minute habit
Two minutes a day is enough to loosen crusts and melt clogged oil.
Four-week trial
Give it at least four weeks before you decide if it works for you.
The one habit that works
The one habit that really makes a difference is sticking to that two-minute lid-care routine every day. Stop, and the crusts creep back; keep at it, and your lids stay calm.
