Simple Stretch Trick
Here's the short, honest answer, and one tip most people miss.
Why Body Is Stiff
When you sleep, muscles stay still, circulation slows, and joint fluid isn’t moving. That’s why the first steps feel creaky. Stretching wakes up tissues and gets fluid flowing.
Stretch time
Each move takes about a minute, so the whole routine stays under ten minutes.
Core Stretches
Start lying on your back. Pull one knee to your chest and hold twenty to thirty seconds, then switch sides. Bring both knees in, let them fall left while arms stretch out and turn your head opposite, holding thirty seconds each side. On hands and knees, arch your back up for cat, then drop and lift your head for cow, breathing in for cow and out for cat, repeating eight to ten times. Finish in child's pose, sitting back toward your heels, arms forward, forehead resting on the floor or a blanket, opening hips, thighs, and lower back while calming the mind.
Standing Stretches
Stand feet hip-width apart. Raise one arm overhead and lean to the opposite side, holding twenty to thirty seconds, then repeat on the other side. Next, find a doorway, place both forearms on the frame at shoulder height, and gently lean forward until you feel a stretch across your chest and shoulders, holding thirty seconds. These moves open the torso’s side line and counteract forward-rounding from screens.
Build the Habit
If you have injuries, check with a physiotherapist or doctor first. Keep your stretch space visible, link it to something you already do like the kettle boiling, and never skip it, three minutes is better than none.
The one habit to keep
Keep your stretch area in sight; a visible space reminds you to move each morning.
